Marathon training on a treadmill incline
There are many reasons why you would want to train on a treadmill incline.
You may be training for a marathon and you want to be able to cope with slopes. If you don’t have any hills in the neighborhood, you can also do some marathon training on a treadmill incline. It can also help you to keep going during the winter or if you’re just not really into facing the elements outdoor in general.
Training with on a treadmill incline will also give you an edge once you take your running practices outside. The belt on the treadmill normally gives you some advantage as it pulls you along, preventing you from getting the full workout you would get outside if you were to do it all by yourself. When you add some incline, running on a treadmill will be more like regular running and will give your muscles a better workout.
Treadmill training may sound monotonous but it doesn’t have to be. The newer generations of machines offer a wide variety of programs, innovative heart-rate routines, and virtual courses modeled after outdoor environments.
